Built in 1873 as the first hospital in the city of Esch-sur-Alzette, the Bridderhaus art centre has just been extensively renovated for more than a year and a half. This former religious complex consists of 3 parts: the old hospital, the old chapel and a new timber frame extension.

The main building is currently a centre dedicated to the arts, with seven artist-in-residence studios, workshops and exhibition spaces. CBL's finishing department was responsible for fitting all of the ceiling (5%) and plaster board (95%) panels. In total, this corresponds to 2,000 m² of false ceilings and 2,400 m² of partitions or wall linings. On this type of old building, preserving the heritage elements is paramount. As the walls are often not square, levelling the panels is a significant part of the work. Further layers need to be added in order to comply with fireproofing, airtightness and resistance standards, and the walls are lined with OSB so that pictures can be hung.
